Tomei began operations in 1968 as a Race car tuner in Japan. Over the last 40 years Japan has emerged as one of the leaders in automotive research, racing, and culture. Tomei products have been utilized in nearly every motor sport imaginable. Tomei's racing heritage means their research and design team have first hand knowledge of the extreme demands racing puts on an engine. Using only the highest quality materials means that Tomei's products can handle the intense strain and heat a purpose built engine will experience whether it be on the street or the track. Tomei's attention to detail is second to none. All of their products are thoroughly researched and engineered to achieve optimal efficiency. Because of even miniscule differences in measurements can cause catastrophic engine failure, all Tomei products fall within strict tolerances. Tomei machines all of their engine components to enhance airflow and ensure proper fitment and seal.
An aftermarket exhaust system is one of the most popular purchases for any car enthusiast looking to modify for their vehicle. This is because an aftermarket exhaust increases performance, sound, and is relatively easy to replace. An engine is basically an air pump, the faster you can flow more air through an engine the more power it will produce. A factory exhaust system was not made with peak performance in mind. Factory units are designed to reduce cost, decrease noise, and be easily mass produced, all of these objectives sacrifice performance. Because upgrading your exhaust allows your engine to breathe more freely throttle response is also improved along with horsepower and torque. Last but not least a less restrictive exhaust system will give your vehicle a more aggressive tone over stock.
Tomei's exhaust headers are designed to maximize power and torque throughout the entire RPM range. To do this Tomei underwent extensive testing, trial, and error experimenting with various pipe sizes and combinations to find the best possible increase in performance and efficiency. Tomei's 2 separate dyno rooms dedicated to their own research and development of performance products. In their testing facility they log all data for further analyzing and push the engine to its limit to test reliability. Tomei works to increase exhaust flow by using larger piping and smoothing bends in the system giving you a faster throttle response. Because Tomei'signs their components to be as efficient as possible and manufactures them using SUS304 Stainles Steel, Tomei's exhaust components are lighter than the factory parts they replace, many of which are made from cast iron. SUS304 Stainless steel is also more durable and resistant to corrosion.
